GeofanGrid WP is a biaxial geogrid
- Typically used in basal reinforcement applications, the WP geogrid is used to absorb lateral forces that would be exerted upon the sub grade from traffic loading stress.
- GeofanGrid WP is a biaxial geogrid manufactured from high tenacity PET yarns encased in a protective polymeric coating to protect the material from chemical attack in the case of extreme pH conditions.
- The high tenacity PET ensures maximum design life and excellent creep characteristics whilst the flexible nature of the material allows very fast and easy installation.
- The load exerted by traffic is transferred to the geogrid by the interlocking action of the granular aggregate within the uniform apertures of the biaxial geogrid and the frictional resistance generated between the geogrid and sub base.
- GeofanGrid WP offers very low elongation of 10% at ultimate load capacity, but more importantly the reinforcement the product provides means an increased lifetime for an unpaved road structure by reducing rutting, and therefore reduction in maintenance costs for both the road and vehicles that will use it.
- For paved construction, the basal reinforcement provided by GeofanGrid WP will reduce the deformation at the formation layer and therefore negate this deformation from propagating to the road surface which can lead to pavement failure.
