Road Stabilization Fabrics
Woven Geo-Textile – Road Stabilization Fabrics
These heavier-weight fabrics are designed for applications where higher strength, stability, and performance are necessary. This fabric is one of the most commonly used geotextiles for road stabilization, ground stabilization, and aggregate separation. Made of polypropylene, the geotextile is UV resistant as well as being resistant to commonly encountered soil chemicals, mildew, and insects. Non-biodegradable. Polypropylene is stable within a pH range of 2 to 13, making it one of the most stable polymers available for geotextiles today. This fabric is also useful for filtration purposes as it restricts the movement of soil particles while allowing water to pass through. The fabric is also useful for erosion control as it helps hold the soil in place when used under gabions. Also useful for shoreline restoration.
Stronghold 200# Tensile
Meets or exceeds ISPI recommendations for driveways, patios, walkways, and roads. This fabric is approved for ODOT Type B and D. Measured by the tensile strength of the material. Tensile strength is a basic indicator of relative strength.

Non-Woven Geo-Textile – Road Stabilization Fabrics
This needle-punched nonwoven geotextile is constructed of 100% polypropylene staple fibers, which are formed into a random network for dimensional stability. The fabric resists ultraviolet deterioration, rotting, biological degradation and resists naturally encountered bases and acids. Polypropylene is stable within a pH range of 2 to 13. Designed and manufactured primarily for construction applications, these Non-Woven Fabric Geotextiles are used in a variety of civil and environmental applications to separate aggregates, filter materials, and provide a reliable foundation under specific areas. Engineered to offer high levels of permeability, these geotextiles are an ideal solution for separation, drainage, sediment control, cushioning, and various other construction and road repair applications. These geotextiles have a random, three-dimensional pore structure and are therefore highly water permeable. Converting is available.
STRONGHOLD NW6
Ideal for applications requiring ground stabilization, aggregate separation, and soil reinforcement. These fabrics feature a needle-punched exterior that aids filtration applications. These geotextiles are ideal for drainage, asphalt overlay, and various other filtration requirements. The lightweight fabrics are slightly lower in strength but have increased permeability levels making them a great option for use in both street and french drains. Weighs 6.0 oz

Commonly asked questions:
What fabric goes under roads?
Road stabilization fabrics more commonly known as non-woven geotextiles are used for long-lasting road construction.
What is road fabric used for?
Road stabilization fabrics are used as a permeable layer of separation during road construction. This separation allows for road stabilization, ground stabilization, and aggregate separation.
Does road fabric let water through?
Yes, that is what makes it an ideal solution for road construction. Road fabric is also useful for filtration purposes as it restricts the movement of soil particles while allowing water to pass through. The fabric is also useful for erosion control as it helps hold the soil in place.
What is the purpose of geotextile fabric?
Geotextiles are used for drainage, asphalt overlay, and various other filtration requirements.
How do you put down geotextile fabric?
We have created a tutorial on how to install geotextile fabric.
