GeoFanTex® GD 2L is a lightweight, flexible drainage geocomposite with a core made of a three-dimensional geomat, produced from polypropylene filaments. This core is heat-welded between two nonwoven geotextiles at all contact points: one is a polyester geotextile, and the other is a polypropylene laminated geotextile.

At the longitudinal ends of the GeoFanTex® GD 2L, the geotextiles extend 100 mm beyond the core, ensuring seamless system continuity at joints and enabling proper overlaps.

Main Function of GeoFanTex^® GD 2L

GeoFanTex® GD 2L acts as a highly effective drainage medium by allowing water to pass through while preventing clogging. The drainage core is typically designed with a high flow capacity, allowing water to move freely and efficiently through the system, which helps to reduce hydrostatic pressure and improve overall drainage efficiency.
This feature is particularly important in areas where water accumulation can lead to instability, such as in landfill sites, road embankments, and beneath large structures where water buildup can affect the stability of the soil.

The geotextile layer of GeoFanTex® GD 2L serves as a filtration medium, preventing the migration of fine particles, such as soil or silt, into the drainage core. This filtration ability helps maintain the integrity of the drainage system over time by preventing clogging and ensuring that the system remains operational.
By filtering out finer materials while allowing water to flow, it ensures the long-term performance of the drainage system.

One of the crucial functions of GeoFanTex® GD 2L is soil separation. The geotextile layer effectively separates the underlying soil from the overlying layers of material, such as aggregates or other construction materials. This prevents soil mixing, which can cause compaction and reduce the permeability of the drainage layer.
This separation function also ensures that the underlying soil does not get contaminated by other materials, which can impact the efficiency of drainage and structural integrity in construction projects
