What is Geotextile Fabric Used for?

Geotextile is also called water filter cloth, permeable cloth, maintenance cloth

  1. High strength. Due to the use of plastic fiber, it can maintain sufficient strength and elongation in dry and wet conditions.
  2. Corrosion resistance, and long-term corrosion resistance in soil and water with different pHs.
  3. Good water permeability. There are gaps between the fibers, so it has good water permeability.
  4. Good anti-microbial properties, no damage to microorganisms and insects.
  5. Convenient construction. Because the material is light and soft, it is convenient to transport, lay and construct.

The main purpose of geotextile:

1: Separation Geotextile

Use geotextiles to separate (such as soil and sand, soil and concrete, etc.). So that two or more materials are not lost or mixed.

2: Filtration Geotextile(reverse filter)

When water flows from the fine soil layer into the coarse soil layer, the good air permeability and water permeability of the geotextile are used to allow the water to pass through, and effectively intercept soil particles, fine sand, small stones, etc., to maintain the stability of the water and soil engineering.

3: Drainage Geotextile Fabric

Geotextile has good water conductivity, it can form a drainage channel inside the soil, and drain the excess liquid and gas from the soil structure.

4: Geotextile Reinforcement

Use geotextiles to enhance the tensile strength and deformation resistance of the soil, enhance the stability of the building structure, and improve the quality of the soil.

5: Protection Geotextile

When the water flow scours the soil, it effectively spreads, transmits or decomposes the concentrated stress, prevents the soil from being damaged by external forces, and protects the soil.

6: The combination of anti-puncture and geomembrane becomes a composite waterproof and anti-seepage material, which plays a role in anti-puncture.
